Introducing: Emsculpt

Feel Your Best

Living in South Bay means beach days, volleyball tournaments, backyard barbeques, bikinis, and walks on the Strand. It’s a community full of people who want to look and feel their best, which is why we are so excited to introduce one of Beauty at the Bay’s tools: Emsculpt. If you are looking to tone up and feel lean, Emsculpt has your back—and more importantly—your abs, glutes, and arms.

What is Emsculpt?

Emsculpt is a non-invasive body contouring procedure that helps increase muscle mass and simultaneously reduce fat. It’s a unique treatment that stimulates muscle contractions in targeted areas of the body, such as glutes, abs, and arms. In fact, in a single, 30-minute session, the machine stimulates 20,000 contractions.

That means in just 30 minutes, you can achieve similar results as doing 20,000 sit ups, 20,000 squats, or 20,000 bicep curls. Incredible!

Before & After

Emsculpt transformed my abs. I would never be able to achieve these results in the gym.

How does Emsculpt work?

One of the best things about Emsculpt is how easy it is. During the treatment, the machine’s wand is placed on the skin over the area to be treated and electromagnetic waves are used to induce involuntary muscle contractions. In simpler terms, the machine makes you squeeze your muscles without you having to think about it. Lay down, relax, and let Emsculpt work for you.

The machine has different settings for each muscle group, tailored to desired results. For example, when sculpting abs, the machine focuses on both burning fat and gaining muscle, but when sculpting glutes, the machine is programmed to focus more on gaining muscle in the area and less on burning fat.

Usually, it is recommended that you purchase a pack of 4-6 sessions and book them with 2-3 days of rest in between. This means that you can see results in as little as 2 weeks!

The machine goes through three different cycles of contractions. The first is a warm-up contraction that stimulates the muscles every few seconds. The second cycle is similar to the first, but it stimulates the muscles longer and slightly harder each time. The third cycle is a tapping sensation and is meant to be a break for your muscles, helping to reduce lactic acid build up.

Fun Fact: Emsculpt Burns Fat and Builds Muscle At the Same Time

Using high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM), Emsculpt induces forced-contraction of abdominal and gluteal muscles. This intense activity simultaneously strengthens, tones, and firms the abdomen and buttocks and destroys localized fat pockets.

How does Emsculpt feel?

If you are wondering if Emsculpt hurts, good news—the answer is no! The very first set of contractions can feel a little tingly and foreign, but you quickly get used to it and even learn to love it.

The machine has adjustable levels of intensity, ranging from 1% - 100% and the nurses at Beauty at the Bay make sure you are at the right level based on the way it feels for you. They are all very reassuring and comforting and ask you how the contractions feel throughout the procedure on a scale from 1-10, 1 being “I barely feel it” and 10 being “I feel it too much.” They like you to stay between a level of 7 or 8, which looks different for everyone.

If you are sore coming into the treatment, the contractions can feel slightly more intense, so it is recommended not to work out the muscle group that you are targeting with Emsculpt before you come in. However, you are absolutely able to work out that same muscle group after the treatment for additional results.

What happens after your Emsculpt treatment?

Another great thing about Emsculpt is that there is zero downtime. When the machine does its soothing beep to signal completion, you are free to walk out and continue on with your day. There should be no pain post-procedure and most people aren’t even sore the next day.

It is recommended that you drink plenty of water and eat protein to help with muscle repair and growth. To stay hydrated, you can even book an IV during or after your treatment. Beauty at the Bay always has you covered.

What are the benefits of Emsculpt?

Being able to target my glutes to reduce knee pain was enough to sell me on Emsculpt, but there are a lot of additional benefits. Some include:

  1. Increased Muscle Mass
  2. Targeted Muscle Growth
  3. Reduced Fat
  4. Non-Invasive Procedure
  5. It’s Safe
  6. It’s Quick and Easy
  7. No Downtime
