Are there any side effects? Is it safe?
Emsella is made by BTL a well known and well respected European manufacturer of medical equipment. Emsella is Health Canada and FDA approved. In research studies the one noted side effect was improved sexual function. Not all side effects are bad! Very rarely a patient may notice muscular pain, temporary muscle spasm, temporary joint or tendon pain, local erythema or skin redness after treatment.
How soon can I expect to see results?
Optimal results are typically seen 2 weeks after your final session. For a few patients with more severe symptoms additional sessions may provide further improvement.
Does everyone get results?
While any medical treatment will have results that vary from person to person depending on the severity of their symptoms and their unique physiology, with Emsella clinical studies found that 95% of study participants reported a significant quality of life improvement and 2/3 of patients totally eliminated or very significantly reduced the use of urinary incontinence pads/diapers.
Will it hurt? Will there be downtime?
No it does not hurt. You will experience the feeling of all your pelvic floor muscles contracting and maybe some tingling. There is no down time and you can resume normal activities immediately after treatment.

Two sessions left and I can really feel a difference now. I no longer run to the bathroom at the first sign of having to urinate and am getting less pee-drop accidents overall.

After session 2, apparently my vagina has some badass muscle memory, because this time there’s really no adjustment period between 0 and 100, so we kick it into high-gear immediately. OMG is my pelvic floor is already a touch stronger since last week? Anything’s possible. EMSELLA has been known to increase sexual pleasure and vaginal lubrication – bless! My husband had a great time in bed after my second treatment.
Note: Sexy time was, in fact, amazing that night but I’m not totally sure if that was EMSELLA related or if it was the edibles we ate. A bit of both perhaps?
